The knob

The graph above is an interactive diagram of how a budget is allocated. A dial sits at the center; dragging it — or moving the slider beneath it — sets a budget between $0 and $25,000.

Each allocation has a threshold, the budget at which it appears, and a weight, its share of the budget among the allocations that are currently unlocked. So raising the budget does two things at once: new allocations light up, and the amount routed to every allocation is recalculated. Nine categories ring the dial, each branching into more specific allocations. Every unlocked node shows the dollars currently routed to it, and selecting one opens a panel with that amount, the category it belongs to, and a short description.

The graph is a demonstration of how a budget divides — not a quote. Demo copy; final scopes are expert-vetted and approved by you.
